I have been to the doctor twice today. First the eye doctor to get new glasses then to a family practice doctor for my sick husband. Things like this make me wonder about careers. These people are getting paid a lot of money based on the amount they charge me and my insurance.
I wonder about the people who work here. Do they come here everyday because they love their practice and helping people? Were they pushed to be doctors by family and didn’t want to disappoint? Or do they just know it’s good money?
I won’t lie, I sometimes wonder if I should be a med assistant. I would probably make more money, have better hours and have a set job everyday.
But. I don’t think I would be happy, and while I like people, I don’t think I like them that much. Especially sick ones.
This makes me wonder, is it ethical to take a job just for the money? We all need money and like to have lots of it. But is it ok to put ourselves in situations we don’t want to be in? Especially if that job involves doing something for other people, like medicine?
Never to worry, I don’t really want to be in medicine nor am I looking to change jobs. But I wonder non the less.
